Glass is not half empty, it’s sprung a leak
Look on the bright side, they said. Their focus on the beauty of now.
They walk, wonder filled, into the void of receding frothy surf just before the tsunami hits.
Clueless of the wave coming.
I envy them.
Yes, they were the first to die (physically, spiritually, symbolically),
but right up to the last moment they were certain in their hope for this world or for some unrealized dream.
Unlike me,
On a hillside, shouting warnings above the deafening din,
Because I had a knack for looking on the dark side.
A blessing and a curse.
