Debut Novel
Friends, I’ve gone and done it. I wrote an urban fantasy novel with witches, magic, humor and satire, with allegory of current US politics. Perfect story for this time of year! I will be publishing in early October. It is a short fun read, titled The Whistlers, Mayhem & Magic Book One by L. Personius.
I know I’ve done a few things wrong, like refusing to immerse myself in social media, especially Not-Twitter, in order to promote my book. But, according to my beta readers, I’ve done a few things right, like writing a funny story. It’s not high brow literary fiction but it is entertaining, so I’m told. It’s not for everyone, but readers who are excited about the Harris/Walz ticket may find it enjoyable. Yeah, I’m not gonna stay in some arbitrary lane. I think artists, writers, musicians, actors can do well in their chosen field AND have a say in the politics of the country they live in, and if they want to express it in their work, more power to them.
